Cut down your energy bills

The last few years have seen a massive search in energy bills in the UK with more and more suppliers racking up their rates to almost extortionate levels. In several recent survey’s, stress over bills was ranked highly amongst the things that keep people awake at night. It comes as no surprise then that cheaper bills, more so than ever, are on the top of most people’s agendas.

Here are out top energy saving tips:

1. Set a timer for your heating so that it turns on about half an hour before you wake up and then half an hour before you expect to return home.

2. Instead of putting your heating on in quick bursts in full power keep it on for long periods of time at a low heat. This will steadily maintain the heat throughout the day.

3. Change your energy supplier : This one might sound obvious but you would be surprised at how many people overlook this tip when really it should be your first port of call.

4. Turn off all electrical appliances when not in use at the plug, not just on stand-by. You would be surprised at how much money this can save you.

5. Change all of your light bulbs for energy efficient ones. Not only do these use less energy, making them cheaper, they also last a lot longer than other light bulbs. Saving you money in the long run.
